It’s easy to forget just how skilled a politician Joe Biden is.
There’s no doubt ol’ Joe and his campaign have been feeling President Trump’s momentum. Candidates like Michael Bloomberg jumping in the race was also a not-so-subtle sign the Biden campaign was in trouble.
So these desperate times called for the silky smooth-talking only Joseph R. Biden could deliver. Reports are that during a campaign stop, the former VP was challenged by staffers to “change the narrative” away from Trump’s inevitable 2020 victory.
“We must stop the horrible orange man. And by the way, I got hairy legs,” Biden said lifting his leg high onto the podium. “I mean, look at these suckers. Each hair, blonde as a Fox News weekend anchorwoman.”
His remarks were met with some nervous laughter, so he continued:
“Neighborhood kids used to reach in the pool and rub my legs down. They would always say, ‘if ol’ Joe’s hair comes back up straight again—12 more weeks of summer!’”
As the campaign event was nearing its end, Biden could sense he had done some of his best work. So before exited the stage, Joe clutched the microphone and breathed heavily into it. In a loud whisper over the speakers, he told the crowd:
“I love when kids jump on my lap.”
The press and crowd were silent. In total awe.
Now THAT’S how you change the narrative, folks. All other candidates should take note and watch out: Joe still has his fastball.
Nearly a full news cycle has passed since Biden horrified the crowd with tales of what minors used to do to his hair and not one story has been about the roaring Trump economy. Not one.
Joe Biden’s still got it.
