Last week, during the ninth hour of CNN’s climate-themed town hall, the Democrats unleashed a secret weapon on the American people.
When the program began dragging, Anderson Cooper asked the audience, “What do you guys think? Is it getting hot in heerrrrrrrrr?!”
The confused and sleepy crowd sprung to life as sparks flew and loud music blared. Lasers began dancing all over the auditorium as none other than 2000’s rapper, Nelly, was lowered onto the stage by wires.
Minutes after Nelly delivered a rousing performance of “Hot In Here”, polling suggested the rapper and the Democrats had completely flipped the American perception of The Green New Deal.
“We did it!” many of the candidates screamed as their handlers insisted they keep all their clothes on. Elizabeth Warren got so excited she began hurling tomahawks into the crowd. A cultural gesture suggesting she was pleased.
By this time, Biden’s body was hanging by a thread but he was able to scream his support for Nelly. “Would you look at this mainstream African-American, clean looking fellow?!” he yelled. “This is storybook, man!”
UPDATE: The media members who attended the Nelly song were the ones tweeting the nation had flipped on the Green New Deal. “We just got so excited, we assumed everyone was feeling what we were feeling. So we reported it.”
