15 Years Ago, Barack Obama Sang, “Oh, I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” At DNC Convention

It was 15 years ago, a relatively unknown Senator from Illinois approached the stage at the DNC convention. The young man named Barack Obama grabbed the microphone and prepared to give his keynote speech.

We all remember those awkward few seconds of hesitation as Obama stared out into the packed house. He pushed his notes aside and cleared his throat.

“I’M GONNA BE A MIGHTY KING, SO ENEMIES BEWARE!” Barack began belting out to a stunned crowd.

Over the next few minutes, as Obama sang the entire song “Oh, I just can’t wait to be king” the nation truly felt a king had been born.

Much like the animated classic, The Lion King, Democrats began piling on stage, singing along. They swayed and swirled around Obama and many lawmakers even attempted to make an elaborate human pyramid to coincide with the climax of the song. However, most of the Democrats were overweight and over 75 years old, making the task of quickly forming a 40-foot human tower incredibly difficult.

Nevertheless, on that humid night in Boston, a star was born. Through the art of song, Obama alerted the Washington establishment he would soon become king. And DC elites on both sides of the political aisle accepted his proclamation. Or else he would have called them racist.
